I have battled with my weight on and off from my high school years through adulthood. At the age of 29, I found myself at the end of an eight year marriage with a man that I’d been with since I was 16. At that point in my life I felt as if I was losing everything that I had built over the last decade. I found myself depressed and looking for ways to improve my life, so I began my weight loss journey. I began working out twice a day and watching what I ate. I lost 70 pounds over the course of a year. I continued on for a while working out, maintaining my weight loss, and portion controlling my meals. I then found myself becoming relaxed on my habits and before I knew it I have regained 30 pounds. I was again unhappy in the body that I was in and I began looking for resources to help me regain control. I was in search of a program, someone to hold me accountable for my goals of weight loss and healthier eating. My cousin began working with Shamere and referred me to her. I started with Shamere on her 21 day challenge which included meal planning and fitness guidance along with nutrition coaching. During the course of the program Shamere was there 100%. She was quick to respond with any questions that anyone in the group had, and encouraged group participation and interaction to encourage each other as we all went through the program. Over the course of the program I lost 9 pounds and 10 inches overall. It was an awesome experience and that was a year ago. I’ve continued to work with Shamere over the past year as I continue of my weight loss journey. I live by her motto, “Healthy Living is not a fad”.
